Physician-guided answers

The questions worth asking.

If you are considering Valere, you already know the right questions. What follows are honest answers — written for the Valerian who does not want a sales pitch, only the facts.

The assessment process

The assessment is a comprehensive physician-guided appointment — not a sales consultation. Your physician reviews your history, relevant imaging, and functional baseline. From that, a physician-guided roadmap is produced: what is happening, what is addressable, what a program would look like for your specific situation, and what realistic outcomes look like over time. You leave with clarity, not a brochure. For a full overview of the program structure, see How It Works.

Plan for sixty to ninety minutes. Unlike a standard medical appointment, your physician does not move on after twelve minutes. The assessment is unhurried by design. If additional imaging or panels are needed to complete the clinical picture, those are ordered as part of the process — not as a separate appointment you have to schedule yourself.

Any recent imaging (MRI, X-ray) and relevant lab work is useful context. If you have seen other specialists, a brief summary of what was found and what was recommended helps your physician understand where you are in the clinical picture. None of this is required — the assessment can begin from scratch — but more context means a more precise roadmap on the first visit.

Candidacy

Candidacy depends on several clinical factors: the specific joint or system involved, imaging findings, prior treatment history, and overall health status. Most adults with moderate joint degeneration, hormonal decline, or performance loss who have not responded fully to conventional approaches are worth a clinical evaluation. The assessment determines candidacy with precision. We do not make that determination before we see your actual clinical picture. See Who We Help to understand the Valerian profiles we work with.

Not necessarily. A surgical recommendation from one physician is not a final determination of your options. Regenerative approaches address different biological mechanisms than surgery — and for many Valerians who arrive with a surgical recommendation, a physician-guided plan provides a credible, evidence-aware alternative worth evaluating. What the assessment does is give you a complete picture so you can make an informed decision, not accept a single opinion as the only one available. See Joint Renewal & Mobility Longevity for how this program approaches the alternatives-to-surgery question. Clinical evidence on PRP for joint conditions is reviewed at PubMed (PMID 26432430).

The Valerians who respond well to our programs tend to be high-performing adults between forty and seventy-five who are experiencing decline they are not willing to accept as inevitable. That said, age is one data point among many. Biological age, systemic health, and the specific concern matter more than the number on your driver's license. Candidacy is clinical, not demographic.

The program model

Valere is a physician-guided regenerative institute. Every program is designed and overseen by your physician — not delegated to a technician, not administered from a procedure menu. Orthobiologic treatments are performed under image guidance. Biologics are sourced compliantly. Programs are built around your specific clinical picture, not a standardized protocol. A med spa sells procedures. We build physician-guided roadmaps. The distinction matters clinically and in terms of outcomes.

There is no honest answer to this question before we assess your situation. Most Valerians who pursue orthobiologic programs complete an initial series — typically one to three interventions depending on the joint and severity — followed by a maintenance protocol that extends and sustains results. The physician-guided roadmap outlines this clearly before any treatment begins. We do not recommend a number before we understand your clinical picture.

No. The assessment exists to give you and your physician the information needed to make a sound decision together. You will leave with a clear roadmap and the option to proceed at your own pace. There is no obligation beyond the conversation. What most Valerians find is that the clarity the assessment provides makes the decision straightforward — not because we pressure it, but because the plan makes sense.

Treatments & procedures

Precision in delivery. Our PRP procedures are performed under image guidance — meaning the biologic is placed exactly where the clinical evidence indicates it is needed, not estimated by anatomical landmark. This is the standard that separates a regenerative medicine physician from a clinic that offers injections as a service. The biologic itself matters. The delivery matters more. Evidence on PRP efficacy for osteoarthritis is reviewed at PubMed (PMID 26432430).

Advanced biologics — including exosome-derived therapies and MSC-based preparations — are available where clinically appropriate and sourced compliantly. The regulatory landscape for these treatments is actively evolving. At Valere, advanced biologic offerings are discussed during the assessment when the clinical picture supports their consideration, and all sourcing meets current compliance standards. We do not discuss specific biologic products outside of a physician consultation.

Hormone optimization begins with a comprehensive panel — not a single testosterone number. Your physician evaluates the full endocrine picture: sex hormones, thyroid, adrenal markers, metabolic indicators, and relevant biomarkers. From that baseline, a precision program is built. Adjustments are made based on how you respond, not on a standard protocol timeline. The goal is to restore the biological environment that your performance depends on — not simply to move a number into a reference range. See Hormonal Health & Vitality for the full hormonal program, or Metabolic Health & Body Composition for metabolic correction.

What to expect

Most orthobiologic procedures involve minimal downtime — typically twenty-four to forty-eight hours of reduced activity at the treated site. This varies based on the procedure, the joint involved, and your individual response. Your physician outlines recovery expectations as part of the roadmap conversation before any procedure is scheduled. The goal is to restore function, not create a recovery that is worse than the problem you came in with.

Regenerative medicine works with your biology — which means it operates on a biological timeline, not a marketing one. Many Valerians notice meaningful improvement between four and twelve weeks following an orthobiologic intervention, with continued progression over three to six months. Hormone optimization typically produces noticeable changes in energy, clarity, and performance within four to eight weeks of reaching therapeutic levels. Your physician tracks this with you at every checkpoint — results are not assumed, they are measured. An overview of regenerative medicine timelines and mechanisms is available at NIH.gov.

Regenerative treatments — including PRP, orthobiologics, advanced biologics, and comprehensive hormone programs — are not covered by standard insurance plans. Valere operates as a private physician-guided practice. The value is in the precision of the plan, the quality of the biologics, the image-guided delivery, and the physician's direct involvement at every stage. These are not available through an insurance-driven care model, which operates on different clinical and economic logic entirely.

Privacy & logistics

Valere operates with full HIPAA compliance and the discretion expected of a concierge practice. Private arrival, private treatment rooms, no shared waiting areas. Your clinical information is never shared without your explicit consent. Many Valerians are public-facing professionals for whom confidentiality is not a preference — it is a requirement. That expectation is built into how we operate, not added as an accommodation. Our full HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices is available on the site.

Valere is located at 919 W Grey St in River Oaks, Houston, Texas 77019. Valet parking is available at the main entrance. A private arrival lane is available for Valerians who require additional discretion. Our team will greet you upon arrival. If you have any questions about arrival logistics before your appointment, contact us at [email protected].

Reserve your physician-guided assessment. That is the only first step. From there, your physician handles the clinical picture and you handle the decision. Assessment appointments are limited — we accept a defined number of new Valerians each quarter to maintain the standard of care our existing Valerians expect. Reserve your assessment here.
